Breville 800Jexl vs Omega VRT330HD/VRT350HD Review Comparison.

First, the only difference between the Omega VRT330HD and the Omega VRT350HD is the color…that’s it!  They are both the exact same machine, except the color and the model number.  The VRT330HD is white, and the VRT350HD is black.  So if someone asks you what the difference between the VRT330HD and the VRT350HD, now you can set them straight. :)

To save some keystrokes, from here on out, I’ll use Omega VRT350HD when talking about both the 350HD and 330HD.

Now, on to the difference between the 800Jexl vs VRT350HD/VRT330HD comparison.

Style:  Even though both look like ejection style centrifugal juicer, the Omega VRT350HD is actually a single auger masticating juicer, and the process and the speed they use to extract the juice is night and day.

Juicing Process:  Breville 800Jexl Juicer uses a spinning blade that runs at upwards of 13,000 RPM (can be dial down to 6500 RPM) to extract the juice.  The Omega VRT350HD on the other hand, uses an auger that turns at 80 RPM to crush the fruits and vegetables to extract the juice.

Material:  The Breville 800Jexl is made of almost all stainless steel.  The Omega VRT350HD has a hardened plastic upper.  Plastic is not as hard as stainless steel, but you get to see the inner working of the juicer while its operating…which kind of cool. :)

Cutting Blade/Auger:  The 800Jexl’s cutting blade is made out of stainless steel that’s coated in titanium (same stuff NASA uses on their space crafts).  The VRT350HD’s auger is a new plastic that is 8 times stronger than traditional augers.

Juicing Wheatgrass:  The Breville 800Jexl can fulfill just about every juicing needs…except juicing wheatgrass.  The Omega VRT350HD is a masticating juicer, which is made to juice wheatgrass.

Warranty:  The Breville 800Jexl Juicer has a 3 year warranty.  The Omega VRT350HD has a 10 year limited warranty.

Price:  Both Breville 800Jexl and the Omega VRT350HD are top of the line juicers, and the price reflect that.  While the 800Jexl typically goes for about $299 (if you can find it in stock, it’s selling out everywhere), the VRT350HD will run you around $380.

Choices, choices. :)   It is tough, because they are both great juicers.  Let’s make the buying decision easier by the process of elimination, after all, this is a pretty big purchase, I want to make sure you use it regularly and get your moneys worth!  We are not going to make things too complicated, just answer the following two questions, and you should get a pretty good idea which to buy.

First question:  Will you be juicing wheatgrass?  If the answer is YES, then cross the Breville 800Jexl off the list and buy the Omega VRT 350HD.  The 800jexl is a great juicer, but the one thing it can’t juice is wheat grass.  Juicing wheat grass is great, but it’s not for everyone.  Unlike fruits and vegetables, wheat grass isn’t readily available everywhere, and there are people who can’t stomach the taste.

Second question:  Do you need a juicer that produce a lot of juice quickly, or do you have all the time in the world to juice?  The Breville 800Jexl can produce a liter of juice in about 2 1/2 minutes, while the Omega VRT350HD can take upwards of 30 minutes.  If you need things done fast and is always hurry for time, go with the Breville 800Jexl.

The VRT350HD is a great juicer, but it’s still a masticating juicer.  It’ll take time to grind down the fruits and vegetables to squeeze out the juice.  Also, the feed tube on the Vrt350HD is smaller, so you’ll still have to do some cutting.

I know this sounds a bit simple, but remember, we are not trying to make it into rocket science here.  We are trying to get you onto the path of a healthier life style.  We are not trying to pick the best juicer on the planet…there is no such thing.  The best juicer is the juicer you will USE THE MOST!

If you want to juice wheatgrass, you are going to have to be patient, that’s just how it is, go with the Omega VRT350HD.  If that’s not for you, then forget wheat grass, there are plenty of other powerful greens that will super charge your body.  Greens like collard green, kale, Swiss chard are all amazing vegetables, go get yourself a Breville 800Jexl.

I read a review where the guy researched for TWO YEARS before buying a juicer!  That’s just ridiculous!  He wasted 2 years of his life doing nothing, all the while he could have fed his body all the incredible, and natural foods.  Don’t be that guy.  You only have one body, treat it well.

The Major Differences Between Breville 800Jexl Elite Juicer Vs Breville BJE200XL Juicer:

  • Power:  The Breville Juicer 800Jexl has 1000 watts of power, while the BJE200XL has only 700 watts!  The difference in power is significant.  The difference is not good or bad, it just means the juicers are for different purposes.
  • Cutting Blade:  The cutting blade on the Breville BJE200XL is made from stainless steel.  The Breville 800Jexl Juicer’s cutting blade is coated in Titanium (they use titanium on airplanes and spaceships) for extra strength!
  • Body:  The Breville Juicer 800Jexl is made mostly out of stainless steel, while the BJE200XL has mostly hardened plastic parts.
  • Size:  The Breville BJE200XL is much smaller than the Breville 800Jexl Elite Fountain Juicer, because it doesn’t have a separate pulp container (See video below).  Taking up much less counter top space.
  • Warranty:  You’ll get 1 Full year of limited warranty on the Breville BJE200XL, and 3 years of limited warranty for the Breville 800Jexl Juicer.
  • Price:  The Breville 800Jexl with its top of the line motor, cutting blade, stainless steel construction and much longer warranty, will cost about $200 more than the Breville BJE200XL.

People call the Breville 800Jexl juicer the “Cadillac of Juicers”.  If that’s the case, the Breville BJE200XL could be considered the “Honda Civic of Juicers”.  While the 800Jexl has the big motor, all the bells and whistles, the BJE200XL has a good size motor, and just enough to get the job done.

Would you try to carry a family of 5 with a couple of baby seats in a Civic? Of course, not.  Just as a Cadillac SUV would be an overkill for a quick run to the local gas station for a bag of potato chips.

Again,  I would like to point out, that it’s not that one is better than the other…because for some, it’d be ridiculous to get more then they’ll ever need, and for some, they need all the room and power they can find.

To put it plainly, if you are going to juice frequently, and you are going to juice for anywhere from 2 people to a large family of 5 or more, you’ll want to go with the Breville 800Jexl.  You will need the extra power in the motor, you will need the stronger stainless steel construction, stronger cutting blade material and you definitely want the 3 years of limited warranty.

If you are single, or a couple with no kids.  If you are just going to have a few glasses of juice a week and if you are budget conscious, then the Breville BJE200XL is perfect for you.  It has plenty of power for its size, and the actual physical size of the juicer is small.  The pulp container is built in, it takes up no counter top space and some people find it cute. :)

Oh, and did I mention it’s got an almost 5 out of 5 star rating by over 800 customers?
